Collaborative Event Showcases Innovative Tools to Combat Gender-Based Violence

A recent gender event was part of the Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence project, uniting key partners such as HAGURUKA Non-Governmental Organization, Health Development Initiative (HDI), and Kosmotive. This event highlighted innovative tools that address gender-based violence (GBV), aiming to raise awareness, encourage community engagement, and enhance access to vital information on GBV prevention.

Flipbooks: Visual Tools for Inclusive Dialogue.

A highlight of the event was the flipbooks—visual aids crafted to support inclusive conversations about gender-based violence (GBV). These image-focused resources are designed to make information reachable to various audiences, including those with limited literacy or unique communication requirements. Featuring compelling illustrations, flipbooks promote open discussions, enable communities to inquire freely, and enhance their grasp of GBV prevention strategies.

GBV Information Chatbot: A Digital Solution.

Another innovative tool introduced is the GBV information chatbot, accessible by calling *350#. Since its launch, the chatbot has experienced impressive engagement:

• 459,417 unique users have interacted with it.

• A total of 3.22 million interactions have been documented.

• In January alone, 72,900 unique users engaged with the chatbot, resulting in 137,000 total interactions.

This digital solution provides accessible, confidential, and timely information on GBV, making it a vital resource for individuals seeking support and knowledge.

Strengthening GBV Prevention Efforts.

Through these innovative tools and collaborative initiatives, the project continually enhances and strengthens efforts in the prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). By ensuring that vital information reaches communities in meaningful, relatable, and accessible ways, the initiative raises awareness and empowers individuals to take proactive steps. This involves enabling them to seek help, access necessary resources, and actively participate in fostering a safer, more supportive, and equitable society for all.

The project encourages individuals to engage with and advocate for positive change within their communities through workshops, outreach programs, and resource sharing.
