Brady Gilmore of the Israel-Premier Tech team won the second stage of the Tour du Rwanda, which started in Kigali and ended in Musanze.

Tuesday’s race started in front of the CHIC building in downtown Kigali, with 69 riders heading to Musanze.

At the start of the race, two riders, including Rwandan Nsegiyumva Shemu of Java Inovotec and German Vizent Dorn of Bike Aid, led the race, climbing Shyorongi, continuing through the Rusiga sections, reaching Nyiragarama and climbing Mount Buranga while still in the lead.

Rwandan Munyaneza Didier was the only one who was behind at all times, trying to catch up with them, but it was difficult, until the group of riders caught up with him again.

Entering Musanze town, Rwandan Nsengiyumva Shemu was the only one in front, followed by Dorn of Bike Aid, while Munyaneza Didier was third, a few seconds ahead of the peloton.

The riders then climbed Kinigi, where they had to descend again to INES Ruhengeri and return to finish in Musanze town.

After leaving Musanze town, Nsengiyumva caught up with him, but two Rwandans, Manizabayo Karadio and Patrick Byukusenge, immediately jumped ahead of the others, adding 20 seconds.

Manizabayo did not take long to the front, the group quickly caught up with him, shortly after Byukusenge Patrick had also left.

After the riders passed the Musanze district office, the main group was riding together but led by Israel-Premier Tech, which allowed its rider Brady Gilmore to win this section with great help from his colleague Itamar who was nearby.
