Rwanda and Norway Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Education, Science, and Refugee Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, received copies of the credentials of Ambassador Tone Tinnes, to represent Norway in Rwanda. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

The two leaders also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and developments in the Great Lakes Region.

Rwanda and Norway are countries that have traditionally had relations in various fields, especially in education, particularly in the field of science. The Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and the University of AGDER in Norway work together to exchange knowledge in Science and Technology through training teachers and students as well as promoting research activities.

There has been cooperation between the two countries in the field of taxation, with a project to improve tax laws, there is also cooperation on refugees and migrants from Libya, and both countries are at the forefront of having the most female leaders, both in Parliament and elsewhere.
